Who We Are and What We’re Doing
The David Maxwell School 90th Anniversary Reunion Website was created to reach out to school alumni, students and teachers, past and present, and to encourage the sharing of school history through the sharing of pictures and memories. The Website will enable its members to connect with each other and hear about reunion events that are being planned. Please scroll down to the bottom of the Website to contribute information and pictures, and to get in touch with the Alumni Committee.
The David Maxwell School Alumni Committee is an ad hoc volunteer committee, comprised of Pat Agnew, Sandy Yovanovich Landry, Margaret Eisler Kipp (all school alumnae) and Tammy Lefaive. They are currently helping to organize the David Maxwell School 90th Anniversary Reunion scheduled to take place at the school and the Caboto Club on June 14 and 15, 2019.
In 2004, for the 75th Anniversary of David Maxwell, Pat and Margaret organized a very well received dinner dance social, held at the Alouette Club. Sandy played a key role, together with school staff, in putting together decades displays of pictures and memorabilia displayed at the school. Together with Tammy, they are aiming for another successful event to celebrate the 90th Anniversary.
The Committee’s goal is to organize a fun evening social event for Alumni, teachers past and present, and friends of David Maxwell Public School on the same weekend that the school is celebrating with a fun fair and open house. Alumni will get the opportunity to visit the David Maxwell School Open House and walk its halls once again, rekindling old memories. The Saturday evening dinner dance will provide an opportunity to socialize with old school friends and neighbours, and share stories and laughs.
The Committee also supports the collection and display of school pictures and memorabilia, an important component of any reunion.
Volunteers are critical to the success of this event, and a call for volunteers to help with the evening social will be made soon. In the meantime, please contact any member of the Committee. We look forward to hearing from you.
Our very active and successful Face book Page was initiated by Pat on February 2, 2019, and now hasĀ 400 participants. We realized that not everyone is on Facebook, and this is the reason we created this website. Please help by spreading the word about the upcoming Reunion.
